Technical Program Manager Intern - Computer Science - Summer 2024

The Programme

As a Technical Program Manager Intern, you will be working in product quality organization responsible for Google Smart Watch, working with quality engineers, manufacturing engineers and product design engineers on studying key characteristics in the assembly processes which influence and impact to the final product quality and reliability. 
 
You will perform study and experiment at our Vietnam based contract manufacturer factory and deploy study outcome into our daily production by changing current production process or implement new quality control methodology to delight our end users with high level quality products. 
 
Responsibilities:

• Perform specific responsibilities which vary by project area. 
• Work with the team to identify key characteristics of critical smart watch hardware subsystems with designed experiment, testing, and statistical analysis. 
• Improve the manufacturing process, product design, and execution through data driven insights. 
• Use your creativity and diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of operation and engineering problems. 
• Speak English fluently in order to effectively communicate with stakeholders.

Required Skills and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or related technical field. 
• Relevant Internship work, work experience, or personal project experience in Hardware or Electrical Engineering. 
• Ability to communicate in English fluently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with material development and material science. 
• Experience in identifying and facilitating Design of Experiments (DOE). 
• Familiar with application of statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP/SAS or Minitab). 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
