IT Application Support - Intern

The Programme

Role Purpose:

• Sitting within the IT team, a person employed in Application Support is responsible for managing the resolution of application and system issues that arise across a business. 
• Application Support jobs seek candidates with both business skills and technical IT knowledge and demands an ability to manage multiple high-level tasks under pressure. 
• Development Applications and support Core Insurance System.

Key Responsibilities 
 
Development applications:

• Develops applications by programing PHP, C#, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL. 
• To perform analysis on user requirements and technical specifications. 
• Process user requirements to technical specifications, assists in documentation of technical manual and user guides. 
• Liaises with project manager and users to ensure successful timely implementation as project coordinator. 
• Prepares, conducts and reviews system tests to attain accuracy and completeness of application system for SIT, UAT. 
• Builds appropriate controls into business application software to ensure stability, security and reliability in accordance with development standards and methodology. 
• Performs trouble shooting and provides production supports for operational problems encountered in business applications and end user.

Support core insurance system:

• Supports Core Insurance System and other applications. 
• Support for DR exercise 2 times per year 
• Support projects, business users and other tasks are assigned by the leader or manager.

Managerial:

• Individual contributor. 

Organizational:

• Timely notifying to manager on potential application problems. 
• Proper escalate to manager for further advise or support.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge: Recognized Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent. 
• Strong problem-solving abilities. 
• Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Able to think out of the box during troubleshooting. 
• Linux OS and Windows. 
• Experience in open-source software. 
• Dedicated, hardworking, resourceful. 
• Ability to work independently. 
• Other requirements: Software development certifications will be of added advantage. 

Education/Qualification:

• Experience in application development using PHP, C#, VB, Java script, MS SQL, MySQL, Laravel. 
• Minimum 1 web application as experience in development and support of monitoring website. 
• Knowledge of Finance, Insurance and IT Monitoring system are added advantages. 
• Languages: Effective verbal and written communications in Vietnamese and English.
