Technical Intern - Silicon Validation Engineer - Computer Science

The Programme

As part of the Validation team at Ampere, you will work alongside several seasoned development and engineers and get real world experience in what it takes to support the development and release of Ampere’s state-of-the-art arm64 Cloud Native server firmware.  
 
An internship starting in summer with extension into fall semester is also an option.    
 
What the Team wants you to know:   
 
Ampere Silicon Validation engineer is expected to be more than just test execution or data collection worker.  
 
Having knowledge in different domains of digital & analog circuit design, package & board design, different high-speed protocols & its compliance testing, Processor & SoC boot flows, firmware and software driver development, application and stress test conditions are highly expected and appreciated.  
 
Ampere has designed the industry’s first server microprocessor architecture from the ground up. Validation engineer plays a key role in providing high quality products, that maximizes benefits to customers and minimizes yield loss at the earliest time.  
 
Ampere’s validation team is expected to have experience in low level driver development, post-silicon testing, automation & test framework development, performance optimization, production support, providing guidance to high profile customer designs.  

What You Will Do

  • Understanding the entire chip is necessary to develop and execute the system test suite for System Level Validation. 
  • Build up the automation infrastructure not only for System Level Validation but also for the entire Silicon Validation team. 
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts. 
  • Identify, report, and track defects to closure. 
  • Big data analysis and development. 
  • Analyze and interpret test results to ensure product functionality and reliability. 
  • Work closely with software and hardware engineers to isolate and debug issues. 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and management.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C. 
  • Have some basic working knowledge of RS-232, SPI, I2C, EPROM, SRAM, Flash Memory, …etc. 
  • Some experience in Microcontroller/Embedded System Programming is desirable. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Familiarity with Linux environment and shell scripting. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks. 
  • Good written and communication skill in English and Vietnamese.

Education:  

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering as 3rd year or 4th year Students with strong academic record.
