SCM Intern - Business

The Programme

As a SCM Intern for Electrification business, you will be responsible for analyzing request coming, implementing plans for sourcing to reach the business targets to purchase Indirect materials and services according to required technical specification, price, delivery schedule and terms.  
 
Reporting to the Procurement & Logistics Manager, you will be supporting projects under indirect materials and services procurement and other local projects as assigned.  
 
This position is based in Hanoi, Vietnam. 
 
Your Responsibilities:

  • Identifying new suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team. Qualifying new suppliers in cooperation with supplier quality and engineering specialists. 
  • Negotiating for best terms and conditions for each individual sourcing and purchasing activity. Applying best skill of negotiation when any saving pipelines defined. 
  • Adapting corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommending frame agreements to management and executes upon approval. 
  • Analyzing and evaluating bids in order to determine the optimal value. Providing relevant market information to have a good benchmark for sourcing activities. 
  • Tracking goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensuring invoice processing. 
  • Supporting supplier contacting when local language communication is required to ensure supplier best performance. 
  • Initiating purchase orders (PO) in the system when support is required, according to the approved Purchase Requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures and confirming delivery with suppliers, monitors and tracks supplier performance to purchase order requirements. 
  • Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard
  • Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business management education (advanced skill or education for purchasing specialist is preferred). 
  • Good negotiation skills for sourcing and purchasing. 
  • Experience in the field of supplier leadership and supplier maintenance strategies. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise resource planning and standard operating procedures. 
  • Good knowledge of SAP (SAP Ariba advantageous). 
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong understanding of processes/systems and methods. Open to changes, innovative. 
  • Strong communication skills in English and Vietnamese (both written and spoken).
